Requirements

Coaching Certification Requirements

To be fully certified in Level 1 or Level 2. The Certification is a multi-step process:

Level 1 Certification Requires:

  • Completion of a Level 1 Volleyball Workshop (Technical Coaching Clinic. Available through Volleyball Nunavut)
  • Completion of an Introduction to Competition A Course
  • Completion of the Making Ethical Decisions online evaluation
  • Completion of the Respect In Sport online course
  • Completion of the Making Headway in Sport (Generic) Online Concussion Module (available through the CAC)
  • Completion of a Level 1 Portfolio & Evaluation (available through Volleyball Nunavut)

Level 2 Certification Requires:

  • Level 1 Certification
  • Completion of a Level 2 Volleyball Workshop (Technical Coaching Clinic) (available through Volleyball Manitoba)
  • Completion of an Introduction to Competition B Course
  • Completion of a Level 2 Portfolio & Evaluation (available through Volleyball Nunavut)

As of January 1, 2014, Volleyball Canada complies with the Coaches Association of Canada’s (CAC) NCCP Professional Development policy and procedures. Coaches will now receive credit within the Locker database for approved professional development experiences.

In order to maintain certification coaches will need to accrue a specific amount of points over a period of 5 years.
